Dirty Cookies: A project by the artist, Julia Mandle

Members of the community are asked to bring dirt found from their immediate environment to a cookie-making event. The dirt is mixed with water, salt and lard and then a table discussion begins: Would you eat your cookie? The act of collecting the dirt and the communal act of making cookies reveals stories about the ecological and human health of the community.
